When installing Spellbook, you might encounter the following error. Troubleshooting steps vary depending on your operating system. Please refer to the appropriate guide below for either macOS or Windows:
macOS Guide
1. Click "Word."
2. Click "Preferences..."
3. Click "Privacy"
4. Click "Turn on optional connected experiences" and completely restart Word.
5. When you reopen Word, you should be able to access the Microsoft Add-In Store.
6. Follow the installation guide here to install Spellbook into your Microsoft Word account.
Windows Guide
1. Go to File > Options
2. Select 'Trust Center' and click on 'Trust Center Settings'
3. Select 'Privacy Options' and click on 'Privacy Settings'
4. Make sure the following boxes are checked. Then restart your Microsoft Word.
5. When you reopen Word, you should be able to access the Microsoft Add-In Store.
6. Follow the installation guide here to install Spellbook into your Microsoft Word account.
Address Organizational or Device-Level Restrictions
If the add-in still fails to install after enabling the required features and restarting Word, the issue may be related to permissions set by your organization or device. To address this:
Contact your IT administrator to verify that Microsoft Office add-ins are allowed.
Ensure there are no policy restrictions on your device or account that could block add-in installations.
