What is Associate?
Spellbook's Associate feature is a web app that focuses on multi-document workflows. It makes it easy to compare documents, revise document templates based on reference documents or ask questions about multiple documents at once.
Spellbook Word Add-In vs Associate
The Spellbook Word Add-In is intended for single-document work and focuses on reviewing and drafting a single doc. It is best to use Spellbook's Word Add-In when you want to redline and mark up a single document or flag risks and improvements.
Associate is best for multi-document workflows. This is when you need to revise a template based on reference documents or compare other documents.
Revise Documents with Reference Documents
1. When you open up Associate, you can start new projects by typing directly in the main textbox.
2. Click on "Add File" to upload the files you'd like to work with. To revise or edit a document based on other reference documents, upload the template document and any reference documents you'd like.
Note: Associate can only edit Word .docx files, but can read PDF, .doc, and .xlsx files. Make sure the document you'd like to edit is in a Word .docx file format.
You'll be able to upload your documents from different sources, such as directly from your computer or via iManage or OneDrive.
3. Type in your instructions in the textbox.
You can use the 'Enhance' button to improve your prompt.
4. Click on the blue arrow key to start the project.
5. Associate will work through the revision plan for your document(s). You'll see the outline of Associate's decision making process.
6. Revisions will be made to your document based on your prompt instructions.
Note: For the best results, make your prompt specific and include a clear editing action (e.g., revise, replace, add, remove, or update).
Once revisions are completed, Associate will show a list of changes made.
7. You can open your document in the editor view to see applied revisions. Changes made to documents within your projects are autosaved. Click the Document name from your file list within the right-hand side panel to open it.
8. You'll be able to view the changes within the editor panel.
9. When clicking through the applied redlines, you'll have the option to Accept or Reject the applied changes.
10. The documents in your project will autosave. You can download your updated document using the 'Download' button available in the editor panel.
