Playbooks tell Spellbook to review the terms that matter to you most. You can even upload your existing playbooks to get started quickly.

Creating your own playbooks is a great way to target a document review in Spellbook and has several advantages including:

1. Click "Playbooks"

2. Click the + Button to create a new playbook

3. When creating Playbooks, Spellbook will automatically save all drafts (accessible under "First Draft")

4. Any Playbooks that have been published but have existed unpublished changes will be accessible under the "Unpublished Changes" dropdown.

1. Click "Clone a Starter Playbook". This is a good option if you're not sure where to start. These starter playbooks have been generated by legal experts and are a good starting point.

2. Spellbook will list out its Starter Playbooks. Select the best option based on what you're looking for.

3. It will generate a Playbook with the starter playbook rules. You can revise the name and description, if needed.

4. Add or edit the rules by clicking on the pencil icon.

5. Add a Fallback Position by clicking + add fallback position, below the rule settings to define an alternate acceptable position if your primary position isn't met.

6. Add Risk Levels to flag the rule as Low, Medium, or High risk, so Spellbook can prioritize and escalate accordingly.

7. Add any of the following directly under the rule by clicking the + next to each option:

8. When you're happy with your rules, click Publish. Draft changes auto-save as you go (you'll see "Draft saved" at the bottom).

9. Once you've published your playbook, you'll be able to amend the Access, by selecting the Private button under the Playbook title.

You'll be able to change the access level using the General Access dropdown menu.

1. Click "Playbooks"

2. Click the + Button to create a new Playbook.

3. Click "From a Document"

4. Click "Upload a Model Document."

5. Select the document you want to upload. You can select any Word doc or PDF format documents for this model/template document.

6. Once you've uploaded the model document you want to use, you can provide details on how you want Spellbook to create a playbook based on this model document.

​You can define if you want the Playbook to be favourable for a certain party or even the jurisdiction it should be applicable under.

7. Click "Create Playbook" to create the playbook from your model/template document.

8. Spellbook will then generate a playbook for you based on the document you provided. A little notification will pop up near the top to indicate that your Playbook is being generated, and it will notify you when complete.

9. When the Playbook is complete, you can open it up. Here, type in a title and an option description.

10. Review any of the rules that have been generated for you and make edits by clicking on the rule.

11. Add a Fallback Position by clicking + add fallback position, below the rule settings to define an alternate acceptable position if your primary position isn't met.

12. Add Risk Levels to flag the rule as Low, Medium, or High risk, so Spellbook can prioritize and escalate accordingly.

13. Add any of the following directly under the rule by clicking the + next to each option:

15. Once you've published your playbook, you'll be able to amend the Access, by selecting the Private button under the Playbook title.

3. Select Describe a Playbook.

4. Type in what you'd like this Playbook to be. Be as specific as possible about which document the Playbook is for, your representative party, any jurisdictional requirements, and any other specifics. Type it in plain language like you're explaining your request to an assistant.

5. Click "Create Playbook," and Spellbook will start generating a Playbook with rules based on your instructions.

6. Give it a title and a description.

7. Review and edit any of the rules generated by clicking on the rule.

8. Add a Fallback Position by clicking + add fallback position, below the rule settings to define an alternate acceptable position if your primary position isn't met.

9. Add Risk Levels to flag the rule as Low, Medium, or High risk, so Spellbook can prioritize and escalate accordingly.

12. Once you've published your playbook, you'll be able to amend the Access, by selecting the Private button under the Playbook title.

3. Click "Start From Scratch"

4. You can now add as many rules and requirements as you like. Simply click "Add Rule"

5. You can then type in any rules and requirements you have for the document type.

6. Add a Fallback Position by clicking + add fallback position, below the rule settings to define an alternate acceptable position if your primary position isn't met.

7. Add Risk Levels to flag the rule as Low, Medium, or High risk, so Spellbook can prioritize and escalate accordingly.

8. Add any of the following directly under the rule by clicking the + next to each option:

9. You can even generate a rule based on a section of a document you have open. Simply select a portion of the document and select the Suggest A Rule from Selected Text option.

This will prompt Spellbook to create a rule based on the section of the document you've highlighted.

10. You can also use Spellbook to suggest additional rules to add, by clicking the "Suggest Rules from Current Document" button. This will populate additional rules that might be relevant based on the document you have open.

11. You can select the "Chat with AI" button at any time when creating rules.

A chat window will pop-up, where you can discuss your rules, ask for changes or remove them.

12. When you're happy with your rules, click Publish. Draft changes auto-save as you go (you'll see "Draft saved" at the bottom).

13. Once you've published your playbook, you'll be able to amend the Access, by selecting the Private button under the Playbook title.

You'll be able to change the access level using the General Access dropdown menu.

14. You can easily find any playbooks you've created again, by going back to My Playbooks. You'll be able to switch between your own Playbooks or Spellbook's (out of the box playbooks ready to use). Any Playbooks created by you or your team will be available under My Playbooks.

15. You can also leverage the Search feature to search through your Playbooks to find the right playbook for you.
