1. Use Associate and upload the files you'd like to work with. Upload all relevant documents for due diligence.
2. Give Spellbook the prompt based on your needs. One great prompt for this could be as follows:
"You are a transactional lawyer preparing a legal due diligence report for an [INSERT RELEVANT PROJECT TYPE] project. The goal is to identify material legal risks and summarize key findings from the provided documents.
Objective: Draft a concise, professional Due Diligence Report that:
Summarizes material findings and issues for the client.
Categorizes findings by legal area (e.g., Corporate, Real Estate, Regulatory, Contracts, Litigation).
Flags high-risk items and suggests recommended actions or mitigations.
Includes cross-references to the relevant document name and section.
Input Documents: (You can include or link the relevant files below, grouped by category — see examples in Section 2.)
Output Requirements:
Use clear headings (e.g., “1. Corporate,” “2. Real Estate,” etc.).
Use bullet points for individual findings.
For each finding, include:
Finding: what was identified
Risk Level: High / Medium / Low
Impact: why it matters
Recommendation: what action to take
Source Document: reference name or citation
End with a Summary of Key Risks table.
Tone: Professional, concise, and analytical — similar to a law firm due diligence report for a client."
3. If you're unsure how to prompt, type in the plain instructions and click the Enhance prompt button for Spellbook to improve the quality of the prompt and give you a better output
You can utilise previous prompts, or save your common prompts by accessing your Prompt Library.
4. When you're ready to produce your Due Diligence table, Click the blue arrow.
5. Associate will produce the requested due diligence report as a table.
You can then upload your due diligence report template as a file, if you'd like to update that with the table outputs.
To do so, click Add Files button in the prompt bar, to add the report template (if relevant).
6. Then instruct Associate to revise the Due Diligence report based on the due diligence table findings. A prompt you can use for this is:
"Please apply the suggested changes from the table into the due diligence report."
7. Associate will generate a plan and begin making those changes. You can click the 'X Changes Made' text where Associate is still working, to see the changes made so far.
You can also open the amended Report file from your file list, to see those changes.
8. Within the editor, you can accept or reject those changes.
9. Once changes are complete, you can download the revised report by clicking Download, at the top of the editor panel.
10. To help streamline these steps, you can always save these instructions as a Workflow that you can easily repurpose with a simple click.
