Cancelling a Paid Subscription

To cancel your Spellbook subscription:

  1. Submit a Cancellation Request

Contact Spellbook Support or your Spellbook representative to initiate the cancellation process. If you have any feedback about your experience, we’d appreciate hearing it.

  2. Processing the Cancellation

Once your cancellation request is processed, your subscription will be set to end at the conclusion of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to Spellbook until that date, and no further charges will occur afterward.

Cancelling a Trial

Spellbook offers two different trial types, and the cancellation process depends on how your trial was created.

Website Trial (Self-Serve Trial)

If you signed up for a free trial directly through the Spellbook website:

  • Your trial will automatically expire after 7 days

  • You will not be charged automatically

  • No manual cancellation is required

Sales-Assisted Trial

If your trial was set up through a member of the Spellbook team or a Sales Representative:

  • Your trial may automatically convert into a paid subscription at the end of the trial period

  • To avoid charges, you must contact your Sales Representative before the trial ends to request cancellation

If you are unsure which type of trial you have, contact Spellbook Support success@spellbook.legal for clarification.

Post-Cancellation Access

After cancelling your subscription:

  • You will retain access to Spellbook until the end of your current billing period

  • The Spellbook team can confirm your exact end date

  • Once the billing period ends, your access will be terminated and no additional charges will be applied

FAQs

What’s the difference between cancelling a monthly vs. annual subscription?

Monthly subscriptions:
You can cancel at any time, and your subscription will end at the end of your current monthly billing period.

Annual subscriptions:
If you’ve paid for an annual term, your subscription will remain active until the end of that term. Cancellation will prevent the subscription from renewing for the next billing cycle.

Can I cancel after accepting a discounted rate?

Yes. Accepting a discount does not prevent you from cancelling later if Spellbook no longer fits your needs.

Will I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. You will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I reactivate my account in the future?

Yes. You can return at any time and set up a new subscription by contacting the Spellbook Success Team.

What happens to my documents after cancellation?

Your documents remain stored in your own systems (e.g. Microsoft Word, your document management system, or cloud storage provider). Spellbook does not store your files.

How long does it take to process a cancellation request?

Cancellation requests are typically processed within one business day.

Do I need to cancel my trial to avoid charges?

Website Trial: No. Website trials expire automatically after 7 days and do not convert into paid subscriptions.

Sales-Assisted Trial: Yes. If your trial was set up through a Sales Representative, you must contact them before the trial ends to avoid automatic conversion to a paid subscription.

If you run into any issues, please email success@spellbook.legal.
