How Does Drafting Work?
Tip: There are 3 features in Spellbook to help you with document drafting:
β
β1) Draft Feature: a multi-purpose feature to use anytime you need to generate additional language. Use it to draft new clauses, write follow up emails to clients or summary advice for a client.
2) Draft Full Document: use Spellbook to draft a new document from scratch. It can be used for everything from writing a letter to generating new templates for you to use.
β3) Library: easily find precedent language you want to repurpose with Spellbook's Clause Library and add it to your document in seconds.

How to Use "New Clause" to Draft New Clauses and Access Your Library
1. Click the "Draft" tab
2. Click "New Clause"
3. In the textbox, type in the clause you'd like to draft or search for
4. Underneath the textbox, there will be a drop-down with two options.
AI Generated: This will generate your specified clause via AI
My Library: This will take a clause that has already been uploaded into your Library (more information on this in Step 13)
5. Let's do the AI Generated clause first! Once you have the prompt ready, click the arrow to generate the clause.
6. Spellbook will generate a list of clauses. If you'd like to use a clause, click on "Use Clause"
7. This will open up a window of the clause you've selected. You can then go in and edit the clause to your liking by clicking inside the textbox.
8. Clicking on "Auto-Adjust" will have Spellbook read your document and adjust the clause to the current tone and style.
9. You can click "reset," if you want to remove the auto-adjustment.
10. Once you're happy with the clause, you can copy it to your clipboard by click the "copy to clipboard" icon.
11. OR insert it at your cursor by click the "Insert" icon.
12. The second way to find clauses is through "My Library." This will search up clauses in from your customized library.
Your library houses all the clauses that you've uploaded into Spellbook.
13. You can manage your library in two ways:
Under the "Manage Library" button in "New Clause"
In the settings (pancake icon on the top left), under "Data Sources," you can also access your library there
14. Whichever way you choose, it will open up a page like this.
15. You can click on "New Folder" to create a new folder and upload new documents, if you'd like to add to your library.
There will be three options for you to choose from. You can choose to:
Connect to OneDrive
Connect to Dropbox
Upload documents from your computer
16. If you'd like to add to an existing folder, click on the folder.
17. Click on the "Plus" icon to upload more documents into that folder.
18. Once you're ready to search up clauses in your library, go back to "New Clause," enter the clause you'd like to search.
19. Spellbook will pull up all clauses from your library related to the clause you've searched up. If you'd like to use a clause, select "Use Clause," and follow Steps 6-11.
20. If you're looking for a particular clause in general, you can use the "filter" icon to sort by your Library folders.
How to Draft Full Documents from Scratch
1. Click the "Draft" tab
2. Type in the document type you want to generate
3. Type in what type of document you'd like to generate, and any other details you'd like to add (i.e. jurisdiction, details, etc.). Once done, click "Generate Document Outline."
4. Spellbook will then take you to a page with multiple text boxes. Information is all option, but the more details you provide, the more robust the outline will be.
If nothing is entered, Spellbook will automatically generate placeholder language for you to fill out in the future.
Once all details are filled out, click "Generate Document."
5. Spellbook will then generate the entire document for you in a few minutes. Once complete, you can insert it into your document by clicking "Insert All."
