Compare Documents

Written by Mustafa Jamal

Compare Documents makes it easy to compare a document you're reviewing against another version or document.

It can help you:

  • Identify untracked changes in documents returned by a counterparty

  • Manage version control by quickly seeing what’s changed between your current document and previous versions

  • Spot differences in language, clauses, and formatting so you can review changes more efficiently

Compare Documents

1. Click on the '>' key

2. Click on "Compare Documents"

3. Click "Browse for a document…" to upload a reference document. Note that Spellbook's Word Add-In will only compare the document you have open and a single reference document.

For multi-document comparison, please use Spellbook's Associate feature.

4. (Optional) In the textbox, add into any additional details.

5. Click "Start"

6. Spellbook will start to populate a list of the differences between the two documents and mark the changes as Important or Notable.

7. You can see the references in the document for the changes by clicking on "Show References"

8. You can easily jump to the section of the document it applies to by clicking the Target icon

9. You can review where in the reference document this difference is by clicking on the "Reference" tab

10. If you're not interested in the change that has been flagged, simply click Dismiss to remove it from your view
