What are Playbooks?
Playbooks tell Spellbook to focus on the contract terms that matter most to you. You can even upload your own existing Playbooks to get started quickly.
When to Use Playbooks?
Creating custom Playbooks allows you to tailor document reviews in Spellbook. Some benefits include:
Reviewing documents against specific requirements
Ensuring consistency across your team for similar document types
Performing deeper, more focused contract analysis
Define a Clear Goal: Know what a "good" outcome looks like before building your Playbook.
Prioritize Reusability: Build Playbooks for document types you review often.
Be Specific: Clear, detailed rules make your Playbooks more effective.
Assign Ownership: Designate one or two people to manage and maintain your Playbooks.
Keep Them Current: Update Playbooks regularly to reflect the changes in your business or risk priorities.
Test Before Full Use: Validate performance before relying on Playbooks for critical reviews.
Use Consistent Naming: A clear naming convention helps keep Playbooks organized and easy to find.
4 Ways to Create Your Own Playbooks:
When you go to add a new Playbook, you'll see four creation options:
1) Use Spellbook's Template Playbooks: This will clone a Playbooks from Spellbook's start library. This is a good starting point for inspiration.
2) From a Template Document (Recommended): Ideal if you already have a clear set of requirements and sample documents.
3) From Instructions: Best if you know what you want to review but don't have any template documents.
4) From Scratch: For full customization. More time-consuming but highly flexible.
